I woke up and sorted myself out. Went down to have breakfast about 8am. My eyes were bigger than my stomach and I ate a little bit too much! Then I went back up to my room and packed up most of my stuff up and it started to catch up on some blogging.
I felt kind of tired. Once it was 10:45am I stripped the sheets and got ready to check out. I asked to store my luggage and headed towards the post office.
I managed to find the post office and on the way I saw these really old buildings that are apparently going to be demolished, as told to me by a construction worker working on a lot across the road as I stopped to take photos. That's kinda sad. I could see a chopped top old as banyan tree in the middle of that block of old building. It's really big. How old must it be!
Then at the post office I sorted out my stamps for the postcards and something for an auntie.
Then I headed towards the pizza place I was going to meet 小D and Knuckles for lunch. They weren't open yet, so I checked maps and could see a symbol for a relic. Turns out it was a plaque telling you about where the old Dongmen was. It was at the same intersection as the old temple. I ended up going across the road and checking out the temple. I found more info plaques!
Then I just sat and rested until it was time to go back to the pizza place.
They were just opening and Dark H was there! I said hiiii and she told me Knuckles went to get some drinks, and if I needed any? I said I'll go get some water I ran out. I headed towards the 7-11 and Knuckles had just finished buying some tea. I got my water and headed back and the restaurant was open. So I went inside.
Turned out Knuckles got me a milk tea! Awww. Thanks! This restaurant is byo drinks as the boss is too busy making pizza.
There was one other group of diners. A bit unnerved.
Knuckles handed me the screen protectors I asked about and refused payment. Brooooo don't do this!
The pizza was really good. The dough shines. It's got kick and a sweet aroma. We got margarita, carbonara flavour and a honey flavour. All were good.
Knuckles notes the Qr code for ordering wasn't done well as the text 'bring your own drink!' was too close to the border and it needed to be shrunk.
When paying Dark H got there first so I just slapped her $200 of small notes I had.
When we finished we said goodbye 😭 and they wanted to take me to a dessert place but bro I can't fit any more!! So we parted ways.
I walked back to the hotel and got my luggage. Asked for a taxi, and also managed to exchange one $1000 bill into smaller ones for the taxi with the reception staff.
The taxi came and I think it's an uber... Because no driver registration and all black car. Fee was $180.
I got to the bus station and managed to get a ticket for bus 9010 for $185, and made it just in time for the 2pm bus. Lucky!
I got on and when we stopped at another stop to let a lot of people on, I realised I was looking at the same old deprecated house as I saw last year. The old roof tiles, red door and red brick wall. Falling to bits.
I fell asleep for about an hour, and really needed it.
I got to Taichung and 二叔 came and got me in his Luxgen car.
Then he let me off to drop off luggage first and meet him at the car park. Ended up taking the car again and he dropped me off at 四叔's shop. I sent in my laptop for a hospital stay, but 致力叔叔 wasn't in today so it'll be looked at on Monday...
I stayed and chatted with both 四嬸 and 四叔. Uncle showed me photo of 阿康' s wife and the dress 四嬸 was deciding between.
About 6pm 二叔 came back from his errand dropping off his poo sample for testing, and we went home. The bentou place we were gonna go was closed due to pork shortage from African swine flu outbreak.
He told me to go home first and wait while he went elsewhere to buy bentou.
Whe he got back we had dinner and talked for a while and had some tea.
Then I took a shower and afterwards I packed up 姨媽's supplements and discovered I couldn't make calls on my phone... And ended up troubleshooting for ages. I suspected dad and mum got a new Sim card swapped when they got new phones last month and the sim card is 5G only... Annoying.
I ended up going to bed about 10:30pm, exhausted.
