Taiwan Day 30 (Taipei 8, Yong Le Markets)

Off to Yong Le markets today. My breakfast was a sandwich from the breakfast store.

I headed out and took the bus to the stop just before.

I saw a weird construction machine on the bus that looked pretty cool!

姨媽 also asked me to buy for her two new cloths to cover the bookshelf in 表姐's room.

I headed into Yong Le and started browsing. This place always makes me lost and my eyes confused.

I managed to find a jute-like piece for Ren Shao You (current project)! Seems like this year there's a trend for hessian or natural woven looking fabrics which is quite cool.

After that I went out to eat lunch at the vegetarian place 老爺素食 next to the temple.

When I was exiting I saw another stamp rally!

The tiles around the building are so cute they included pictures.

There was a info centre and I decided to pop in and see if they had any stamps. They did! And the service lady showed me other shops that had stamps you could collect.

The bookshop was close so I went there first and got the stamps.

Then I went back to shop and managed to find a fabric for 姨媽.

It was a mint green checkered fabric.

After wandering around a bit I went upstairs, (I was today years old when I realised there was a 3F of fabric market). Everyone looked just and I walked around 2 or 3 times until I found someone who looked free ish and asked if they could do? They were OK and said it's $100 a piece (so $200) and come back in 30 mins.

I went downstairs outside and decided to have a 花生湯. I sat down at the only free seat and ended up chatting to 3 other people who have a daughter in USA. They commented the soup is very rich today and that usually at this time there's none left. The soup is lighter in the morning.

After I finished, I went back up to pick up the cloths. They were done. I thanked them and the sewing was really neat. Nice.

I went back down to look for a dark green base cloth for RSY. I didn't find anything ideal and at the end near 5:30pm I was tired and sore so I just got a basic one.

After that I decided to check one if the other shops that had stamps and they were also a gift creative souvenir shop type. They had a really old ink pad!

On my way home I dropped into a couple of other shops. And also managed to find the shop I got a white chalk pen from in the first year!

Then off home I got via MRT. I ended up getting on a train that terminated at Taipower Building and took a bus from there.

Dinner was yummy and I had some of the aiyu. It has a grassy aroma bit otherwise no taste.

I also saw a book donations box at Taipower Building MRT station.

Then I helped 貝貝 with his English homework which was vocab, then shower and sleep. Yilan day trip tomorrow.
