Taipei Day 4 (Yongle, Underground Shopping Mall)

Today I woke up later than yesterday, around 9am, and 姨媽 came in to tell me she was going to get her meds at Shanxi Zhong Hospital. She showed me how to close the door. I saw her off and then went to pee and then went back to bed for like 20 mins before getting up and grabbing the breakfast that 姨媽 left me in the rice cooker. It was a rice ball today.

I had to move my photos from the internal phone storage to the micro SD card, cause I was running out of space. That took a while. 姨媽 came back while that was happening, and I ended up vacuuming the floor while waiting. Cause I think I keep dropping hair.

Then I packed my bags and got ready to go. By the time I headed out it was almost 12pm. Lol. Off I go back to DadaoCheng 大稻埕戲苑 to finish looking at the puppet exhibits I didn't finish yesterday. By the time I got there it was 1pm. I had a look at the Beimen station exhibits of the archaelogical finds. It's so interesting.

Only photos of the wall exhibit as I took photos of the pillars last year.

One of the tailor shops had a little table with stamps outside. So cool~

I stopped by a trims, haberdashery, jewellery, beads and findings store and had a look around inside. It was pricey but they had some really nice and fancy, shiny stuff. They have so many buttons and stuff I've never seen in Ao/NZ. Can't compare.

Then I went to have lunch, at the same place as last night. I said hi to the boss and picked my buffet. It also ended up being $90 lol. The boss asked me where I was from, etc, and then how long the time difference is. He was surprised it was 5 hours and said that Aus is only 2-3 hours ahead. Yup.

I went to eat my foods and it was still yummy. But most of the dishes were cold, since it was almost 2pm now. The soup was same as yesterday, and it was kinda cold. Still yummy though. I had like 3 bowls of soup. I thanked the boss as I left after putting my dishes at the recycle station. He waved back.

Now I can go and finish looking at the exhibit. On the short walk there I walked into some Tsuchi volunteers advertising donating plasma or similar. I said I'm too light (kg) to donate - they said how much I said 46kg, and they said you can donate over 45kg. They say they take a same of the plasma first to try and match a recipient. Then they gave me a flyer and said if I can't then perhaps you could tell people you know to consider it. They thanked me for stopping by and showing interest - I said I also learnt something new today about the matching donors (that isn't bone marrow).

Finally arrived. I took my sweet time and then realised I didn't watch the video at the entrance about Huang Chun-Hsing. That was a 8 mins video about the living legend. He's 91 years old!!

I sat down outside and had a short break and decided to head back inside Yongle fabric market. Man I always get lost in here. I saw some linen that could work for Sophie but ultimately decided against it. They had the type of linen mix and weave I wanted in a diff fabric, but not in the colour. I tried to look for the shop that sold chalk pens, and passed by some shop owners chatting. They asked me what I was looking for, and I said chalk pens. They directed me to shop 49 - I got lost, and walked back, they said that way, and told me to ask for the area with the spiral stairs. I found them eventually. They close at 5:30pm and it was 5:20pm so I had to be quick. They didn't have white in the chalk pens I wanted, so sad. I ended up getting a few things.

Embroidery scissors, $150, glass bead pins that won't pucker on fine fabrics $100 (and an extra as gift $100), 3x fine tipped chalk pens in diff colours $75 ea?, 2x chalk pens in a thicker pen $45, 2 spools of Japanese thread offwhite $100 ea, 1 wheel of elastic 2cm wide (black) $90, and 1 wheel of elastic 2.5cm wide (white) $90, and the total was $990.

I finished at around 4:30pm and headed towards Underground Shopping Mall. I realised they had a Muse store right at the Beimen end. I was thinking I'd get some t-shirts as a gift for friends but couldn't make my mind up which one would be best, and I wanted to confirm sizing. The shop attendant was coughing hardcore as well and not masked. So even though I felt confident in my Zimi I decided to leave, since I can always order online.

As I continued down the mall I stopped at that artist gift shop and bought another phone shoulder strap as a gift for another friend. It was a different lady staffing today. I let them know they can keep eating their dinner and I'll call for them if I need help. I ended up just getting the phone strap $249.

Then I kept going and went back to the shop that had Patty from Vesperia. I ended up buying it $450, my friend can finally complete the set.

I had a really good look at the other shops I missed. Had a look at gacha shops. My feet were getting really tired. There's a watch shop near the Taipei Main Station end that had some Jaga child watches. But none of them were as nice as my old one. Time to go back home how. It's 7pm.

I got home and had dinner. 姨媽 had cooked the shigua and the kids left me 1 piece of pork belly lol. I consider it quite a big achievement that they even left me a piece haha. As usual everything is yummy as. The kids were going crazy playing, and 表哥 was home and asked me where I went today. Quickly had a bit of a chat, and they went home while I was eating.

表嫂 gave me a box of tea leaves given to him froma colleague of his whose home is a tea farm. Cool, thank you.

My feet are really sore. I'm gonna finish blogging and take a shower.
